Prevention, Retention & Contingency Program (PRC)
Disaster Assistance
Perry County has been officially declared a disaster area by the Perry County Commissioners due to severe flooding. As a result, the county is offering temporary PRC Disaster Assistance to eligible families who have experienced disaster-related loss or damage. This program will remain available until all allocated funding has been exhausted.
This assistance is designed to help families with urgent needs related to the flooding and to support the safety and stability of households with minor children.
Apply for disaster assistance
Print and complete the PRC Disaster Application, then return it to Perry County Job and Family Services with your income information and proof of disaster damage. The document also includes the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services explanation of state hearing procedures.

Program eligibility
Household requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following:
- Minor child in the home. The household must include a minor or dependent child residing in the home.
- Non-custodial parent eligibility. A non-custodial parent may qualify if all conditions below are met:
- Resident of the State of Ohio
- Has a child who is a resident of Perry County
- Has a child support case that is compliant with Perry County CSEA and administered by Perry County CSEA
Income requirement
- Household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline.
Eligible services
Applicants may receive assistance for:
- Replacement of items due to disaster-related damage or loss.
- Repairs needed due to disaster-related damage or loss.
Program benefit amount
- Maximum assistance is up to $1,000 for disaster-related replacement or repairs within a 24-month period.
Required documentation
To process your application, you must submit:
- Completed PRC application, signed and dated
- Completed IRS Form W-9, signed and dated
- Household income received in the last 30 days listed on application
- Proof of disaster damage
